Photinia glabra Rubens is useful as either a short or tall hedge and ideal for planting light windbreaks around your seating area. It also does a great job of breaking up different garden areas.
This is a tough and hardy frost-tolerant evergreen that needs little from you once established. It can easily hedge at 1.5-2 metres.
Well-drained fertile soil brings out the brightest ruby reds, so dig in some organic matter if your soil is a bit thin.
