    Schlumbergera truncacata also goes by the name Christmas Cactus because that is when the beautiful blooms usually appear in the Northern Hemisphere. For us in Australia that means we get these bell shaped, colourful flowers in our winter which brings a well deserved splash of colour to brighten up our cooler days. 

    Naturally found in the jungles of Brazil this epiphytic cacti likes a warm, humid spot with nice filtered light. It’s an interesting textured plant with surprisingly showy long-petalled flowers that hang delicately from the stem tips. Colours range from pink to yellow, lavender, orange and white. The leaves are spineless, flattened and a bit pendulous almost weeping from the centre to form a really pretty arrangement.

    Her pretty hanging habit and beautiful flowers makes her easy to love but she is also easy to care for. She is drought and heat tolerant and will be happy to hang out with you as long as you don't overwater her.
