What exactly is included in the Assorted Bougainvillea 10 Pack?

Each pack includes 10 healthy bougainvillea plants selected from a wide range of vibrant, flowering varieties. This is an assorted mix, meaning you will receive a curated selection of different colours, growth habits, and plant forms rather than identical plants. The range included can vary from compact dwarf varieties through to more vigorous, larger-growing bougainvillea, making this pack suitable for a wide range of garden sizes and uses. Whether you are planting in pots, small courtyard spaces, or larger garden beds and fences, there is something in this mix to suit most spaces.Depending on seasonal availability, your pack may include combinations of:Bright pink bougainvilleaDeep magenta or purple tonesRed flowering varietiesCrisp white bloomsWarm orange or coral shadesEach order is carefully selected to ensure a balanced mix of colours and growth habits, so you receive a visually striking and practical collection of plants that can be used in different areas of your garden. Every pack is hand picked with love to ensure healthy plants, strong growth, and a diverse assortment.

Will I receive the exact varieties shown in the product photos?

Not necessarily. The images displayed are intended to show the range of colours and overall quality you can expect, rather than the exact plants included in every order. As this is an assorted grower’s choice pack, the exact varieties may change depending on:Seasonal availabilityGrowing conditionsNursery stock at the time of dispatchHowever, we always ensure each pack contains a well-balanced mix of colours and strong, healthy plants. The goal is to deliver a visually stunning combination rather than a specific named cultivar set. If you are looking for a particular variety, please view our full range of Bougainvillea here.

How do I grow bougainvillea successfully in Australia?

Bougainvillea thrive in warm, sunny climates and are best suited to full sun positions. For optimal growth and flowering, they require:At least 6–8 hours of direct sunlight dailyA warm, sheltered position protected from strong frostWell-draining soil (they do not like “wet feet”)In Australian conditions, bougainvillea perform exceptionally well in coastal, subtropical, and warm temperate regions. The more sunlight they receive, the more vibrant and frequent their flowering will be. In shaded areas, growth will be lush but flowering may be reduced.

How often should I water and fertilise bougainvillea?

Bougainvillea prefer a slightly dry, low-maintenance watering routine once established.Watering:Water deeply when the top layer of soil is dryAllow soil to dry out between watering sessionsAvoid frequent light watering, which can reduce floweringOverwatering is one of the most common reasons bougainvillea produce fewer blooms.Fertilising:Use a low-nitrogen, flowering-focused fertiliserFeed during active growth seasons (spring and summer)Avoid excessive nitrogen, which encourages leaves over flowersProper balance encourages strong flowering and compact growth.

Do bougainvillea need pruning, and how big will they grow?

Yes, regular pruning is highly beneficial for bougainvillea.Pruning benefits:Encourages more floweringMaintains shape and structurePrevents overly woody or tangled growthLight pruning is best done after a major flowering cycle.Growth size:In pots: typically 1–2 metres, depending on pruningIn the ground: can climb 3–5 metres or more if supportedThey are excellent for:FencesTrellisesArboursFeature wallsWith regular trimming, they can be shaped into compact shrubs or trained as climbers.

Why is my bougainvillea not flowering?

This is one of the most common questions, and usually it comes down to environmental conditions rather than plant health. The main reasons bougainvillea fail to flower include:1. Not enough sunlight Bougainvillea require full sun. Even partial shade can significantly reduce flowering.2. Too much water Overwatering encourages leafy growth instead of blooms.3. Excess fertiliser (especially nitrogen-heavy feed) This leads to lush green growth with few flowers.4. Pruning at the wrong time Heavy pruning at the wrong season can delay flowering cycles. To encourage flowering:Move to a sunnier position if possibleReduce watering frequencyUse a low-nitrogen fertiliserLightly stress the plant (slightly drier conditions encourage blooms)With the right conditions, bougainvillea are prolific and long-flowering plants.

Customers praised these bougainvilleas as "healthy plants" with "great colours" and excellent packaging. Most arrived "alive and healthy" and are "growing well." However, some shoppers reported plants losing leaves during shipping, with 4-6 not surviving. A few noted pots were difficult to remove without damaging roots. Overall, positive feedback on variety and value.
